PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Jim is from Philadelphia and relocated to Boca Raton, Florida where he was employed five years at the award winning renowned architectural firm of Rex Nichols Architect, where he gained his formal training and experience, before launching JDR Design & Construction Inc. in Boca Raton, Florida in 1999. While employed with Rex Nichols, Jim developed a deep passion for the tropical architectural style after studying the history of Architect's, Addison Mizner, and Murice Fatio, whose Spanish Revival buildings created a new style of tropical architecture for Palm Beach, Boca Raton, and south Florida during the boom years of the 1920s. While employed at Rex Nichols, Architect, Jim had the honor and privilege of working on several muilti-million dollar ultra-high-end luxury ocean front estate home projects and the historic Mizner Administration building project that was designed and built by Addison Mizner in 1925 to house the artisans from Europe who worked on the famous Boca Raton Hotel & Club.
